This month we talk to Systems Engineer Luke Grierson. Luke tells us all about what his work for 4 Site Security entails:
“I’ve worked with 4 Site Security for just over five years but have been in the trade for 15. As a systems engineer, I cover servicing, installations and customer care.
“I maintain fire and intruder, CCTV, access control, emergency lighting systems and monitor that they are working correctly.
“As well as using my technical knowledge and expertise, my role very much involves ensuring that the customer has a great experience. As I’m on the front line, I will be one of the people that they see the most from 4 Site Security.
“Making sure people are happy is something that I really enjoy. This comes from having worked, from around 11 years old, on a market stall with my father. I took up engineering straight from school and customer care has always been up there in my priorities. This was one of the main reasons that I wanted to work with 4 Site Security when I came for an interview. Customer satisfaction was a big part of the company ethos.
“I mostly work in and around the Yorkshire area but can cover the whole of the UK, from Taunton and Bristol, to Livingston and Glasgow.
“What I love about my job is that every day is different. I will deal with anything from the challenge of finding intruders in a derelict property to the straightforward task of changing batteries or cleaning cameras. I work in variety of settings from police stations to schools, or a doctor’s surgery to a block of flats, or a farm which has been converted to kennels and with horse trainers. It’s the connection with different types of people that adds interest to the job.
“I find great job satisfaction in making a difference by helping people, especially vulnerable people, to feel safe and secure.”
