We are proud to outline our new Mindful Employer chartership, which reinforces our commitment to building mental health resilience within our workforce.
At 4 Site Security, we believe that our greatest asset is our people. That is why we are incredibly proud to announce that we have officially joined the Mindful Employer chartership. This national initiative, run in partnership with the charity Leeds Mind, represents a formal commitment to supporting mental health in the workplace.
Established in 2004, Mindful Employer is a UK-wide initiative run by Devon Partnership NHS Trust. Providing employers with easier access to professional Workplace Mental Health training, information and support, the initiative aims to help empower employers to take a lead in supporting the mental wellbeing of their staff. By signing the ‘Charter for Employer Positive About Mental Health’, 4 Site Security has made a public statement of our desire to support the mental health of our staff across the organisation.
Achieving charter status in January is just the beginning of our journey. This charter is a pledge to:
- foster positive engagement: we are actively working to recognise and support mental health issues while tackling the stigma often associated with the subject
- support our colleagues: we aim to build a culture where we support each other, building self-resilience and embedding mental health awareness into our daily workplace life
- celebrate diversity: embracing the existing diversity within our team is a core value that remains central to our business

We are already taking practical steps to support our team from the management level to the front line. We have delivered a series of workshops focused on tackling burnout. To ensure every member of our team can benefit, these workshops will be made available in video format for our officers on-site.
This resource will help colleagues:
- recognise the signs of burnout in themselves and others before it takes hold
- address critical topics: future workshops, suggested by workshop participants, will cover anxiety, stress, and the impact of the menopause
- access financial guidance: following the success of these sessions, an outside source has offered informal support with guidance and lived experience on financial difficulties
Our charter status will be reviewed every three years, providing us with a regular opportunity to look at new ways for further improvement and development.

Charlotte King, our Compliance Officer and Mental Health First Aider says:
"Achieving the Mindful Employer chartership is a formal commitment to our people, who remain our greatest asset. By coming together to create this robust, company-wide system of support, we are ensuring that the 4 Site Security family remains strong, healthy, and resilient from the management level to the front line."
